On both sides, the water tanks have been cut open, to create an access to the bilge tanks so that they can be bled. I am not sure, whether these couldn't be accessed from the aftermost compartment, but anyways the damage is done; we don't have functioning tanks any more (whether these are used for water or as flotation tanks - they need to be tight).

On the starboard side, there are two holes cut.

How can we get these tanks tight again and keep access for bleeding of the bilge tanks? Perhaps we can extend the opening to the bilge tank with a threaded pipe and then cover the rest with a patch.
